A security guard, Bryan Paquera Sugay, was shot and killed by Michael John Rusiana Sarda in Moalboal City, Cebu, Philippines on November 21, 2024. The incident occurred after a dispute outside a convenience store where Sugay had been celebrating his sister’s birthday. Sarda, who had been tidying up the area, was confronted and scolded by Sugay, leading to the fatal shooting. Sarda was apprehended shortly after.

At 12:00 in the evening, he was partying outside the convenience store. “This victim was partying with friends. Then he urinated, when he came back he saw that the suspect had put the bottles away and something had fallen on the table” Paca added. When he saw the victim he got angry and scolded the suspect for why he put the bottles away. The suspect reasoned that he believed the victim would return home.
