Oslob and Moalboal Anti-Drug Raids: How Police Stopped Two Notorious Suspects
The recent fatalities were identified as Louie Marindoque and Michael Cardente. Marindoque was killed in an operation in the southern town of Oslob town while Cardente were shot dead in an operation in the southwestern town of Moalboal.
Oslob’s Municipal Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group (MAIDSOTG) led by Police Inspector Deni Mari Pedrozo launched the operation against Marindoque Sunday night after confirming he was involved in the illegal drugs trade.
Marindoque was brought to the Oslob District Hospital but did not make it there alive.
In Moalboal, policemen were implementing an arrest warrant against Cardente in Barangay Tomonoy yesterday morning when the suspect allegedly pulled his gun out and fired at the policemen, prompting the cops to retaliate.
Recovered from the suspect were a caliber 45 pistol with magazine; 12.64 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P149,152; and drugs paraphernalia.
Cardente was rushed to the Badian District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
