Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco had another thrilling diving adventure, this time in her home province of Cebu.

Frasco joined a team of divers for an underwater adventure in Moalboal where rich marine life can be found. From the sardine run to sea turtles, the abundant aquatic treasures have left the tourism chief in awe.

“Mesmerized by MOALBOAL ❤️” Frasco wrote on Instagram.

“The Sardine Run, sea turtles, and pristine beaches teeming with marine life make Moalboal, Cebu truly one of the Philippines’ tourism gems,” she said.

After her awe-inspiring adventure, the tourism chief encouraged travelers to check out Moalboal as their next destination.

“Unforgettable diving and snorkeling experiences await you in Moalboal! ❤️” she said.

Back in April, the tourism chief went scuba diving in Puerto Galera in a bid to show the province remains free from the oil spill caused by a sunken ship.

Meanwhile, the government has formed a “dive committee” to promote the wonder of diving tourism in the country.

According to Frasco, the inter-agency panel will “employ a coordinated, focused, and fully supported approach towards the further development of dive products across the country. “

The committee is composed of the Department of Tourism, the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), and the Philippine Commission on Sports Scuba Diving (PCSSD).

“This consolidates all programs, activities, and promotions of these agencies that will, in turn, fully support the local governments’ and private sector’s efforts towards the sustainability and growth of dive tourism in the Philippines,” she said.
